Spend a day aboard Cutty Sark with lively sea shanties, maritime folk music, talks and communal singing celebrating the ship’s 157th birthday in Greenwich.

Cutty Sark’s annual Sea Shanty Festival returns to Greenwich on Saturday 21 November 2026, celebrating the famous tea clipper’s 157th birthday with a full day of maritime music and activities. Performances take place aboard the ship in the Dry Berth and Tween Deck, with a morning programme repeated in the afternoon so visitors can either stay all day or choose a half-day entry slot.

The line-up includes Swinging the Lead, The Silver Darlings, Sonny Brazil, The HogEye Men, Upping The Shanty, the London Sea Shanty Collective and the Queer History Club Choir. There will also be a sea-shanty talk by Mark Braby and large group singalongs, making this a good choice for folk-music fans, maritime-history enthusiasts and anyone who enjoys participatory live music.

The festival runs from 10:00 to 18:00 at Cutty Sark, King William Walk, Greenwich, London SE10 9HT. It is included with admission to Cutty Sark rather than being a free standalone event. Current admission is £22 for adults, £11 for children aged 4–15 and £16.50 for students; members enter free. Booking online is recommended to secure a timed 10:00 or 14:00 entry, although tickets may also be available on the day. Under-fours do not need a ticket. Check the official event page before travelling for any programme or ticketing changes.
