Independent charity and part of the Trussell network, providing emergency food and support to local people in crisis across the Royal Borough of Greenwich.

Greenwich Foodbank provides emergency food and support to local people who are referred to it in crisis. It is an independent charity and part of the nationwide network of food banks supported by the Trussell Trust, working to combat poverty and hunger across the UK.

Emergency food parcels are given out at the foodbank's Welcome Centres around the borough, not at its depot. Centres close to Blackheath and Greenwich include the Blackheath Standard Welcome Centre at St John's Church, Stratheden Road and the East Greenwich Welcome Centre at the Forum @ Greenwich on Trafalgar Road. Up-to-date times and the full list of centres are on the foodbank's Locations page.

To receive a food parcel you need a foodbank voucher. The Greenwich Community Hub (0800 470 4831) can issue one and may also be able to offer other support; Citizens Advice, the council's housing support team, children's centres, health visitors and some local charities can refer people too.

The office and depot on Shooters Hill is where food donations can be dropped off. The foodbank relies on its supporters for food donations, financial gifts and volunteers. Greenwich Foodbank Limited is a registered charity (no. 1152007).
