Based at Mycenae House in Blackheath, JK Performing Arts offers drama, dance, and musical theatre classes for young people, focusing on personal development, confidence building, and creative expression through a variety of performing arts.
JK Performing Arts is a Blackheath-based drama school dedicated to fostering confidence and creativity in young people. Founded by Jenny Jones, the school focuses on personal development through a curriculum that includes acting with scripts, musical theatre, street dance, jazz, and TV/screen acting. While the school has the capability to develop students for professional performance, the primary objective is to support children on a journey of self-discovery, allowing them to learn and grow at their own pace in a supportive environment.
The school operates primarily from Mycenae House, offering a structured schedule of weekly classes tailored to different age groups and skill levels. In addition to group classes, the school provides private tuition for solo pieces, with teachers who are registered with LAMDA for acting and musical theatre examinations. The teaching team is comprised of experienced professionals with backgrounds in stage, film, and television, ensuring students receive practical insights into the industry. Safety is a priority for the school; all instructors are DBS-checked, the premises are covered by public liability insurance, and each session is overseen by a qualified first aider who performs regular risk assessments. New students are invited to book a free trial session to experience the school's approach firsthand before committing to a term.
