Cosy two-room café on Royal Hill serving homemade, mostly vegetarian brunch and lunch, loose-leaf teas, fresh juices and much-loved homemade cakes. Walk-ins only.
Royal Teas is an independent café partway up Royal Hill, a short stroll from the centre of Greenwich. It is split across two small rooms, and the guide London's Good Coffee Shops described it as a find of such individual charm and character that it more than merits the walk, with a warm, cosy feel and the smell of freshly ground coffee as you come in.
The food is homemade, freshly prepared and mostly vegetarian. Brunch runs from granola goodness jars and green smoothie bowls to smashed avocado on sourdough, eggs Royale and Florentine, a veggie breakfast, huevos bravos, burrito wraps and quesadillas, with soups, salads and filled baguettes at lunchtime. Afternoon visitors come for scones with jam and clotted cream, waffles, and the homemade cakes the café is known for, including gluten-free brownies and vegan ice cream sandwiches.
To drink there is artisan coffee, a wide range of loose-leaf teas, fresh juices and smoothies. Royal Teas doesn't take bookings; it's walk-in only, so just drop by for breakfast, lunch or afternoon tea.
