The Creaky Shed is an independent greengrocer tucked away on Royal Hill, just off the busy centre of Greenwich. Run by owner Jason Hunter, it has been supplying the local community with fresh, locally sourced fruit and vegetables since 2002, and it describes itself as Greenwich's only local greengrocer.
The focus is on the freshest local and seasonal produce available, with the displays changing through spring and summer into autumn and winter. Alongside the fruit and veg you'll find a range of pantry favourites from producers such as Chegworth Valley, Mrs Darlington's, Thomas J Fudge's, Borders and Green & Black's.
The shop also offers fruit and veg boxes with free home delivery, and any combination of produce can be arranged on request. Flowers are a big part of the business too: hand-tied and same-stem bouquets, table arrangements and funeral flowers, with Christmas trees and door wreaths in season.
It's a proper neighbourhood shop, the kind of place locals rely on for the weekly shop, a last-minute bunch of flowers or something special for the table.
