Historic 16th-century coaching inn in Blackheath Village, serving award-winning Kentish real ales from Shepherd Neame, homemade pub classics and sharing roasts, with a function room and live music.
The Crown is a historic pub at the heart of bustling Blackheath Village, in a former coaching inn that dates back to the 16th century. Its unique period features have been lovingly kept, and the pub celebrates its traditional heritage with a drop of nostalgia. It is run by Shepherd Neame, the Kent brewer, and its ethos is local: award-winning Kentish beer and locally sourced produce.
Real ale is the speciality, with a wide selection of award-winning ales on draught alongside lagers, ciders, premium wines and spirits and seasonal cocktails. The kitchen serves homemade bar snacks, lunch plates and traditional pub classics done well, with sharing roasts that need to be pre-ordered and puddings worth saving room for. Festive menus run through the Christmas season.
There is a function room for private celebrations, an outdoor area, free WiFi and regular live music. The pub has a birthday club offering a free meal on your birthday, sells gift vouchers, and takes table bookings online. It is a handy stop before or after a walk on Blackheath common or a wander around the village shops.
