The Guard House occupies the Royal Arsenal's original guard house, a handsome Grade II-listed building with a columned portico, just a minute's walk from the Elizabeth line at Woolwich Arsenal.
Inside, it's all leather armchairs, patterned tiles and trailing greenery, and outside there's a large, partly covered terrace that's open all year. Expect real ales, craft beers, a well-chosen wine list and cocktails, alongside a seasonal British menu and a proper Sunday roast every week.
Private rooms can be hired for parties, meetings and even weddings, and the big rugby and football matches are shown.
