A refurbished 1906 octagonal café at the top of Greenwich Park by the Royal Observatory, serving breakfast, pizzas, burgers and cakes, with big gardens and step-free access.
The Pavilion Café sits at the top of the hill in Greenwich Park, a few steps from the Royal Observatory, and is one of the park's best-loved places to stop. The octagonal building dates from 1906 and is topped by a dovecote with a weather vane showing Nelson peering through his telescope. It has recently been refurbished and is run as part of The Royal Parks.
In fine weather you can make the most of the large gardens at the front and back, and in winter the café is a cosy, welcoming place to warm up after a walk on the hill. The kitchen serves breakfast and a range of hot dishes, including pizzas, burgers and salads, while fresh salads, sandwiches and cakes are ready to take away and enjoy in the park. In the warmer months a seasonal pop-up in the garden serves grilled food and cold drinks, which makes it an easy spot to meet friends. Vegetarian and vegan dishes are available, and other dietary needs are catered for.
The café has a step-free entrance and an accessible toilet. Dogs are welcome on a short lead, and both card and cash are accepted, with cash taken at specific tills.
