Woolwich

A community arts centre and theatre in Woolwich's old tram shed, running shows, performing-arts programmes for young people and adults with learning disabilities, and space for local groups and hires.

Tramshed is Woolwich's home of participation: a charity-run arts centre and theatre in the town's old tram shed on Woolwich New Road. It started life as the Greenwich and Lewisham Young People's Theatre (GLYPT) and took the Tramshed name in 2019 to celebrate its venue.

The programme mixes professional performances that the team creates or books in with performing-arts programmes for young people and for adults with learning disabilities, and the building is home to a wide range of community groups. The theatre and studios can also be hired for community and corporate events.

Tramshed is the Creative Programming Partner for Royal Greenwich's Cultural Impact Award 2026/27.
