Blackheath Fireworks 2026: Road Closures, Parking & Bus Diversions
Every road closing for Blackheath Fireworks on Saturday 7 November 2026, plus parking restrictions, bus diversions, the nearest stations and the three entrances.
Thousands of people are heading to Blackheath this Saturday, 7 November 2026, for Blackheath Fireworks. If you live locally, are driving through, or are going to the display, here's what you need to know about road closures, parking and buses.
Road closures (from 3.30pm, Saturday 7 November)
Lewisham Council has confirmed the following closures from 3.30pm:
- **Blackheath Village**: between Montpelier Vale and Lee Road
- **Duke Humphrey Road**: whole road
- **Goffers Road**: whole road
- **Hare and Billet Road**: whole road
- **Lee Road**: between Blackheath Village and Lee Terrace
- **Montpelier Row**: between South Row and Montpelier Vale
- **Montpelier Vale**: between Montpelier Row and Blackheath Village
- **Prince Charles Road**: between Shooters Hill Road and Montpelier Row
- **Royal Parade**: whole road
- **Talbot Place**: whole road
- **Tranquil Vale**: whole road
Parking, loading and unloading (expected from 10am)
Parking, loading and unloading restrictions are expected from 10am on the same roads, plus:
- **Lee Road**: between Blackheath Village and Priory Park
- **Lee Terrace**: between Lee Road and Quentin Road
- **South Row**: whole road
If you live on one of these roads, move your car before 10am if you need it during the evening. Expect the village and the roads around the heath to be very busy until the crowds have gone home.
Buses
Routes that normally run around Blackheath Common, including the **54, 89, 108, 202, 380 and 386**, will be diverted while roads are closed. Routes through Blackheath Village and Royal Parade are affected most, so you may need to use a stop further away.
- **54**: diverted, from 3pm in one direction and 4.30pm in the other
- **89, 108, 202 and 380**: using alternative stops
- **386**: towards Blackheath Village it will terminate at Greenwich Park (Chesterfield Gate); towards Woolwich it will start from Greenwich Park
- The **SL4** and **N89** are also covered by the organisers' travel information
Check TfL's journey planner before you travel, as diversions can change on the night.
Getting there: trains are your best bet
There's no public parking near the heath on the night, so the organisers strongly recommend public transport:
- **Blackheath station** (Southeastern): about a 7-minute walk
- **Lewisham station** (Southeastern and DLR): about 20 minutes on foot
- **Maze Hill station** (Southeastern and Thameslink): about 20 minutes on foot
Allow extra time to get home, especially once the fireworks finish, when stations get very busy.
Entrances
The site has moved a little further north this year, closer to Shooters Hill Road, and there are three entrances:
- **Red Gate (South), Blackheath entrance**: SE3 0TY
- **Pink Gate (West), Lewisham entrance**: SE3 0UA
- **Green Gate (North), Greenwich entrance**: SE3 7BN
Event times
Gates open at 5pm, the fireworks start at 8pm (which is also last entry), and the festival finishes at 10pm. It's a ticketed event and tickets must be booked in advance. Last year's event sold out.
Eating out before or after
If you're heading out before the display, book ahead. Blackheath Village will be busy and parts of it closed to traffic from mid-afternoon. Browse our Blackheath restaurants and pubs for local spots within walking distance of the heath.
For more on the night itself, the line-up, food and rides, read our Blackheath Fireworks 2026 visitor guide.
