Before you go

Most of these ceremonies take place outdoors at war memorials, and many begin a few minutes before 11am, so arrive early and wrap up warm. If you'd like somewhere warm afterwards, our Local Guide lists cafés and pubs in Blackheath village, Greenwich and Eltham.
