DEBRA's Greenwich shop sells pre-loved fashion, books, homeware and furniture, supporting people living with the rare skin condition EB.
On Woolwich Road you'll find DEBRA's Greenwich charity shop, a roomy shop for pre-loved fashion, books, homeware, electrical items and furniture.
DEBRA UK is the national patient support organisation for epidermolysis bullosa, or EB: a group of rare, painful genetic skin conditions that make the skin blister and tear at the slightest touch, often called "butterfly skin". It is also the largest UK funder of EB research. Every purchase and donation made in Greenwich helps change the lives of people living with EB.
The shop welcomes donations of clothing, shoes and bags, homeware, books, electrical items and furniture, and it also offers furniture collection, which is handy if you're clearing a room or moving house. When you donate, the team will ask if you'd like to join the Retail Gift Aid Scheme, which lets DEBRA claim extra from HMRC on what your items raise, at no cost to you.
DEBRA also offers flexible volunteering in its shops. Whether you have a particular skill or want to learn something new, a few hours a week sorting stock, dressing the window or serving customers makes a real difference. There's wheelchair access, and the Charity Shop Gift Card can be spent in DEBRA's shops, which makes a thoughtful present.
With Christmas coming, it's a good moment to clear out the cupboards and give your things a second life.
