Celebrating the charities of Blackheath & Greenwich
We've given every local charity and non-profit on our site a complete listing for life. Meet the 25 organisations in our Community Spotlight series.
Blackheath and Greenwich would be very different places without their charities. They run the food bank and the hospice, care for our historic buildings and green spaces, keep music, art and theatre within everyone's reach, and fill our high streets with shops where every purchase does some good.
We wanted to do our bit in return. So every charity, community group and non-profit listed on Blackheath & Greenwich now has a complete listing, with full details, photos, opening times and ways to help, and it's theirs for life. If you run a local charity and can't find yourself on the site, add your listing and we'll make sure it gets the same treatment.
Over the coming weeks we'll be shining a light on each of them in our Community Spotlight series: what they do, who they help, how you can support them, and what's coming up this winter, from the Blackheath Christmas Fair on 15 November to the Community Hospice carol concert at the Old Royal Naval College on 4 December.
If you're thinking about giving some time this winter, there are roles for almost every interest: sorting books, guiding visitors, coppicing willow on the Peninsula or cooking meals for people who need them.
